Net score is the player’s score after handicap strokes have been subtracted from the player’s gross score. E.g.: At the start of the Coppinwood event, a B Flight player’s Handicap Factor is 12.4. The player’s Course Handicap, from the blue tees is 14 (12.4 x 126 /113). Because the player is competing against others playing from different tee decks, an additional calculation has to be performed to create equity across the field. This second calculation subtracts the lowest rating of the tee deck used in the event from the rating of the tee deck played by that player.
Eg. the player’s gross score is 92. The player’s net score is 73: 92 [gross score] – 14 [course handicap] - 5 [tee deck rating difference] = 73.
